Commonwealth grew from a desire to work more directly with the people behind the business.
After more than 15 years creating photography and film for brands, agencies and publications, I wanted to build a studio where the relationship could be more personal, the process more collaborative, and the work just as carefully made.
Some clients come with a detailed brief. Others simply know that what they have no longer reflects who they are. Commonwealth can start in either place — helping shape the idea, determine what the project actually needs, and carry it through production and post.
The scale may change from one assignment to the next. The attention to the work doesn’t.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
The experience behind Commonwealth.
Commonwealth is led by director, cinematographer and photographer Aaron Wenck.
For more than 15 years, Aaron has created photography and film for brands, agencies and publications across beauty, healthcare, fashion, hospitality, lifestyle and consumer work.
His experience ranges from intimate documentary shoots and portrait sessions to larger commercial productions involving full crews, talent, locations and post-production.
That range is part of what shapes Commonwealth: knowing when a project benefits from a larger production and when it is better served by keeping things small, focused and direct.
What has kept me interested after more than 15 years is that every project presents a different problem to solve. I like being involved early - understanding what needs to be communicated, shaping the visual approach, and staying close to the work through the final image or film.
